Welcome to the web page of Richard Hanckel and Helene Settle, otherwise known as the Land Department of Daniel Ravenel Real Estate.

Helene (Helen) and "Ricky" have over 50 years of real estate experience between them, and are not as ancient as that half a century might suggest. They are both brokers and Ricky is also an appraiser.

Ricky is a native born Charlestonian with local roots going back several centuries. He has a wide knowledge of the land in the low country and can supply all manner of information on game, crops, timber, tides, fishing all highlighted with colorful anecdotes and insights about life in the south.

When not working he likes to hunt, fish, sail and attend the meetings of the many clubs to which he belongs. He can cook an excellent venison roast.

Helene was born and raised in England and has lived and worked in Hong Kong and many different areas of this country including Coronado, Ca; Boston, Ma; and Richmond, Va. She saw the light and became a US citizen many years ago. Her connection to Charleston goes back to her youth, when her father lived here. She has a background in marketing, likes to walk, snow ski and cook.

Both Ricky and Helene have extensive experience dealing with historic properties. Three years ago they formed an informal partnership specializing in land and plantation sales, an area of very few specialists. At any given time, they have fifty or more listings in the Tri-county area and beyond. Their customers and clients come from all over the country and from overseas.

They are an industrious, creative and highly experienced real estate team who will work tirelessly to find you just what you want (except 2 acres on deep water for $50,000 - they're not making any more of that)

Call us (or email for our attention) if we can help at all or if you need brochures and further information on these properties.

Hope you enjoy our page!
